Stories from History Makers

   Fiona's HM Journey

Fiona MacFarlane (22), a leader in The Girls' Brigade Scotland, was part of a HMUK journey in 2014. She shares some of her reflections with us...

Three words to describe History Makers are...

fun, challenging and inspiring.

God challenged me...

to be more open in my faith to others throughout the week. During the week, we did a little bit of street outreach. I got involved and shared a short testimony. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, and has encouraged me to be more willing to reach out to those who do not know Jesus.

I learned that...

we have all been given spiritual gifts, which we should use to enrich God's world. I also learned that everyone is different, but we all have a purpose in God's plan so we should not worry if we're not as good as others in some aspects.

As a result of my History Makers journey, I will...

definitely ensure that I take more time out per week to just be still and listen to what God is asking of me. History Makers has all motivated me to continue working with girls and young women in developing their faith. I will also aim to be more open about my faith, in the hope that it will help others to come to Christ.
